How Much Does Corporate AI Training Cost in 2026? Prices in the US, UK, Canada and Australia

Abo-Elmakarem ShohoudOctober 24, 20269 min read

Corporate AI training in 2026 costs roughly USD 260 to 380 per person per year for self-paced e-learning seats, about GBP 150 to 300 per person for public instructor-led days, and from about USD 1,500 to 6,500 (or the local equivalent) per day or half-day for a private team workshop. Licences for the tools themselves are a separate budget line.

This guide collects published prices from vendors, training firms and software makers, with a link for every figure. Prices change often, so check the source before you budget. All figures are list prices seen in October 2026 unless stated, and I have left out anything I could not confirm on a live page.

What are the main ways to buy AI training?

There are four routes: self-paced e-learning seats, public instructor-led courses, private team workshops (live, online or on-site), and independent trainers or marketplaces. Seats are cheapest per head but have the lowest completion. Private workshops cost more but use your own tools, data and policies.

How much do e-learning seats cost per employee?

Self-paced platforms charge roughly USD 260 to 380 per user per year at small-team list prices. Coursera for Business Teams showed USD 259 per user for 12 months in October 2026, and LinkedIn Learning for Teams lists USD 379.88 per seat per year. Larger deals are negotiated and usually cheaper per seat.

  • Coursera for Business (Teams plan): the Teams page showed USD 259 per user for 12 months for 2 to 499 licences, with quarterly billing at a higher effective price (Coursera for Teams). Other pages and reviews have listed about USD 399, so expect the price to move with promotions (Coursera plan comparison).
  • LinkedIn Learning for Teams: USD 379.88 per seat per year for organisations needing 20 or fewer licences; larger companies get custom quotes (LinkedIn Learning for Teams, LinkedIn help).
  • Maven for Business: offers discounted team access to its live cohort courses and private team trainings, but publishes no flat price, so ask for a quote (Maven for Business).

The catch with seats is not the price. It is whether anyone finishes. A catalogue of AI courses does not teach your finance team how to use Copilot on your own reports.

How much do instructor-led workshops cost in the UK?

UK private workshops range from about GBP 980 to 6,500 plus VAT per session, depending on group size, depth and trainer positioning. Per-person public days start near GBP 149 to 299. The spread is wide, so compare what is included: pre-work, follow-up support, and whether the trainer builds on your tools.

One UK guide puts instructor-led team sessions at GBP 125 to 500 per person (TrainAI). That is a vendor's own estimate, so treat it as a market signal, not a quote.

How much does AI training cost in Canada and Australia?

Canadian private workshops list at roughly CAD 1,500 to 5,000 per session. In Australia, public one-day courses start near AUD 795 excluding GST and cohort workshops start around AUD 5,000. Currency and tax treatment differ by provider, so confirm both before comparing quotes.

I have not converted these currencies. The Canadian and Australian sites show plain dollar signs, which I read as local dollars.

What do the AI tool licences cost, on top of training?

Licences are the recurring cost people forget. In October 2026, Microsoft 365 Copilot (enterprise add-on) is USD 30 per user per month on an annual term. Copilot Business is listed from USD 21 (promotional USD 18). ChatGPT Business is USD 20 per user per month on annual billing, USD 25 monthly. Claude Team standard seats are USD 20 annual, USD 25 monthly.

All Microsoft figures are per user per month, billed yearly, and the Copilot add-ons sit on top of a qualifying Microsoft 365 plan. UK prices exclude VAT and Canadian and Australian prices exclude local tax. Sources: Microsoft Copilot Business, US, UK, Canada, Australia, Microsoft 365 Copilot enterprise, Anthropic pricing. For ChatGPT Business I could not load OpenAI's own pricing page automatically; the figure comes from a reseller page quoting OpenAI's list (Madewell AI), so confirm on chatgpt.com/pricing.

A quick sum: 50 people on Copilot Business at USD 21 is USD 12,600 a year in licences. A USD 6,500 workshop is about half of that, and it decides whether those licences get used.

What do freelancers and marketplaces charge?

Independent AI trainers typically price per day. On marketplaces such as Malt, French AI-trainer profiles appear in the high hundreds of US dollars per day, though the profile pages block automated access, so I cannot cite a verified range here. Maven is a marketplace for cohort courses rather than day-rate hiring. Always check the individual's profile.

Ask any freelancer for: a sample agenda, who owns the materials, what follow-up is included, and how they handle your data in the room. Rate matters less than whether the trainer has built and shipped things with the tools they teach.

Where Karem fits

I am an independent AI consultant and corporate trainer in Cairo, working remotely with teams in the US, UK, Canada and Australia. My public "from" rates are: a live online day (up to 7 hours) at USD 800 (about GBP 600, CAD 1,100, AUD 1,250); a half-day (3 to 4 hours) at USD 500 (about GBP 400); and 1:1 executive coaching at USD 100 per hour. On-site work outside Egypt adds travel and accommodation at cost.

That is lower than most private-workshop prices listed above. I will be straight about why that should not be the only factor: I am independent, I do not have a library of named Western client case studies to show you yet, and I am one person, so I suit teams up to a manageable group size rather than a company-wide programme. What I offer is practitioner depth: three years shipping production software and AI products, live multi-lecture courses with an illustrated PDF guide for each lecture, and half-day ChatGPT Business or Claude Team workshops for leadership on tools the company already pays for. Details are on the remote AI training page. If another option on this page fits your team better, take it.

How should you budget for a 50-person team?

Budget for licences, one or two live sessions, and a follow-up. A simple 50-person plan combines a leadership half-day, two role-based team workshops and a 30-day check-in. Spread across the sources above, expect a one-off training cost of roughly USD 2,100 to 17,500 (a leadership half-day plus two team workshops, at the low and high ends of the table below), plus licences.

The ranges are my own arithmetic from the figures above, not quotes from any vendor. E-learning seats are optional.

FAQ

What is a reasonable per-employee budget for AI training? For live training, count GBP 125 to 300 per person for public or small-group days, or divide a private workshop fee by the number of attendees. Add licences and an hour of follow-up per person.

Is e-learning cheaper than a live workshop? Per head, yes: USD 259 to 380 a year. But a live workshop on your own tools usually changes behaviour faster. Many teams combine a workshop with a seat for self-study.

Do training prices include VAT or GST? Often not. UK prices are usually quoted plus VAT, and Australian ones excluding GST. Microsoft's regional pages show prices before local tax.

Should we train before or after buying Copilot or ChatGPT licences? Buy a small pilot set first, train that group, then expand. Training everyone before they have access wastes the effect, and licences without training sit unused.

Can an independent trainer in another time zone work for a US or Australian team? Yes, if sessions are live and scheduled sensibly. From Cairo, I cover the full UK day, US East Coast mornings and Sydney or Melbourne afternoons.
